Novel Biocatalysis and Bioremediation Systems

Immobilised and supported biocatalysts have been used in many different applications worldwide and the biocatalyst technology to produce new drug intermediates, fine chemicals and even drugs in their own right is developing apace.

A generic technology to enhance operational stability of immobilised biocatalysts is available via T&D Technology.

The example shown below is for an immobilised secondary oxido-reductase enzyme working continuously at 50oC. The comparison between the oxido-reductase immobilised directly onto the support and the oxido-reductase pre-stabilised and then immobilised onto the support is quite evident.

The supplier company who has the rights to the technology is interested in working with potential clients to develop stabilised, supported biocatalysts having 1) shelf-stability characteristics and 2) enhanced operational stability characteristics.
